Business Districts & Commercial Development

Middleborough retains an active Downtown Business District and supports significant commercial development primarily along the 13 mile Route 28 corridor and Routes 44 and 105 areas within the Town. This commercial development includes but is not limited to:

  • Hotels
  • Medical Office Buildings
  • Office Condominiums
  • Restaurants
  • Retail Outlets
  • Retail Shopping Malls
  • Stores

Economic Revitalization

A key responsibility of the OECD is economic revitalization and attracting viable businesses to the Town center and to commercial areas. The OECD advocates for:

  • Business Attraction and Retention
  • Businesses
  • Commercial District Revitalization
  • Infrastructure Improvements
  • Retail Development

As of 2023, OECD's  Downtown Improvement Committee has recently completed the first phase of new branding of the historic business corridor and is working collaboratively to implement the planned progression towards greater revitalization in this quaint downtown.

The Middleborough Tourism Committee is supported by staffing provided by OECD.  The volunteer Tourism Committee has its own website at Discover Middleborough highlighting Tourism's local planned events.
