At the gateway to the Cape and Plymouth, Middleborough sits at major interstate interchanges. Interstates 495 and 24 connect Middleborough to metropolitan hubs like Boston and Providence in approximately one hour as well as New England’s largest airport, Logan International Airport in Boston.

The Town of Middleborough also enjoys its location in close proximity to academic institutions such as Massasoit Community College, Bridgewater State University and University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Economic Development
Middleborough takes economic development seriously. Home to six business parks totaling more than six million square feet and major companies, including the corporate headquarters for Ocean Spray and Christmas Tree Shops, Middleborough is a business-friendly community that has targeted several areas for further development including the rotary area, route 28, route 105 in the downtown. Town staff work closely with developers from initial contact, through the streamlined permitting process, to occupancy to ensure that the needs of the business and the community are effectively and efficiently addressed.

Economic Development Target Area
The Town of Middleborough has been designated as a Economic Development Target Area by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is therefore eligible to negotiate tax incentives agreements to encourage commercial development in any of the three Economic Opportunity Areas.
